Course
condition
Greens: The greens are frozen but in very
good condition.
During the off months (Nov-March) greens will be cut 2-3 times a week or
as needed depending on weather conditions.
Because the greens are frozen, which makes it difficult to change cup
placements, we have placed one additional cup in the greens to reduce wear and
tear on the turf during winter play. The
flag will be moved as needed
Bermudagrass/Zoysia
(Tees, collars, fairways and roughs): The
turf is dormant. Our pre-emergent
herbicide application has been very successful. We will begin our winter herbicide
post emergent treatments for control of poa annua and winter broadleaf weeds
that have broken through in the areas where pre-emergent herbicide was not
applied
Irrigation:
- The Irrigation system for the golf
course is winterized
Bunkers
- This
winter, weather dependent, we would like to move sand around inside the bunker
to areas where the sand depth is less than what is required (4”-6” in the
center and 2”-3” on the slopes). The
current bunker state is frozen sand
The upcoming month (in addition to normal turf maintenance)
- Tree removal from holes #5 and #6
- Course Clean up
- Interior club house painting
- Continue with the budget process
- Bunker maintenance
- Continue with revising programs: IPM
(Integrated Pest Management) plan, Turf products, Best Management Practices
